Aaron Ramsdale: Up against his main rival for the England number one jersey it's safe to say the Arsenal man came on top. Excellent with his feet if relatively untested with his hands. 7.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: Some really nice playing out from the back with both his right and left foot. Looks to be growing in confidence with his crossing too. How Ben Godfrey wasn't sent off for a stamp on the Japanese defenders face only Mike Dean knows. 7.

Benjamin White: Looked a little as though his poor performance against United was playing on his mind with a few moments of hesitation at the back. Could definitely have done more to stop Gray cutting in for the winner as well. 5.

Gabriel: Enjoyed the physical battle with Richarlison and showed some nice touches to play out from the back. Got lucky for the second Everton disallowed goal though and was just able to play his compatriot offside. 6.

Kieran Tierney: A surprise choice to be the first player substituted as the Scottish international was largely impressive on his return. His cross for Odegaard's quality was a rare moment of quality in a poor game. 8.

Thomas Partey: Was brutally honest in giving himself a 4/10 for his time at Arsenal so far, and did little to change that. Not quite as bad as that but still looks short of confidence, taking several touches and skewing some shots way over the bar. 5.

Granit Xhaka: Steady enough on his return to the starting line up after a lengthy injury lay off. Played his part enabling Tierney to get forward for the goal and kept possession ticking over nicely. 6.

Bukayo Saka: Was targeted for some heavy treatment by the Everton players and looked to struggle a bit because of it. Looked the most likely to change the game late on though with sheer force of will. 7.

Martin Odegaard: The Norwegian has had his critics, but that's two goals in two for him and three in nine starts across the season. Would have wanted to influence play more in possession though and had two massive chances to win the game. 6.

Gabriel Martinelli: His direct run to the near post made the space for Martin Odegaard on the penalty spot for the goal, and while he wasn't as influential as against United, it was still a good display. 7.

Alexandre Lacazette: Not a great performance from the Frenchman who didn't do enough to test the Everton centre backs. Dropped deep which is admittedly in his nature, but not what was needed on the night. 5.

Substitutes -

Nuno Tavares: Arsenal did lose a bit of thrust down the left when he replaced Tierney but that was less because the Portuguese was bad and more because Everton dominated. 6.

Eddie Nketiah: Oddly chosen over Nicolas Pepe to come on on the left wing and had a huge chance to win it with a header. Missed point blank at the back post. 5.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Came on late and missed a massive chance to earn a draw at the death. n/a.
